How Did I Get Bed Bugs?

Bed bugs are actually quite fast and because of their small size, it allows them to easily travel stealthily.  Bed bugs often travel in suitcases and clothes.  It is more than likely that if you recently traveled, you got them from the hotel or place you were staying.  They can attach themselves to the outside or inside of suitcases and you'll never notice them because of their dark color and size.  If you haven't traveled recently, there are plenty of other ways you may have gotten bed bugs.  If you stayed at a friend's house, it is very possible they hid in your clothes and followed you home.  Be aware though that just because you wake up with bites or marks on you, that does not mean you have bed bugs so you don't need to panic yet.  They could be bites from ants, mosquitos, or you could be having an allergic reaction to other bugs.  It is best to call an exterminator.  The company I used was very professional and helpful so I recommend them if you're in the New York/New Jersey area.
